Creekview High School Band Directors
Preston H. Hazzard, Jr. - Director of Bands
Mr. Preston Hazzard received his academic training at Howard Payne University and the University of North Texas respectively. He currently serves as the director of bands at Creekview High School. A native of Euless, Texas, Mr. Hazzard grew up under the tutelage of Tom Neugent at Trinity High School. While at HPU, Mr. Hazzard studied conducting with Robert Tucker and Tom Webster. He completed his graduate degree in wind conducting at the University of North Texas with Dennis Fisher and Eugene Migliaro Corporon in 2006.
Prior to coming to CFBISD, Mr. Hazzard served as an assistant director at both Hedrick Middle School and Marcus High School (Lewisville Independent School District) and as the director of bands at both Frisco High School and Denton High School. While in Denton, Mr. Hazzard has also served as the Texas Music Educators Association Region 24 Band Division Chair. He is currently serving as the Texas Music Educators Association Region 24 Vice-President.
Mr. Hazzard's bands have participated in many festival events throughout the country some of which include Colorado Springs, Crested Butte, Disney World, South Padre, and Bands of America. Throughout his career, Mr. Hazzard's ensembles have received exclusively superior ratings at the UIL Concert/Sight Reading Contest. In 2003, the Denton High School Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the Bands of America National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana and in 2005 was selected as a state finalist in the Texas Music Educators Association Honor Band competition.
The Creekview High School Wind Symphony was also recognized as the Texas Music Educators Association Honor Band finalist for 2010-2011. The Creekview Wind Symphony also performed at the 65th Annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in 2011. In addition, the Creekview High School Wind Symphony was recognized as a National Winner in the Wind Band Honors Mark of Excellence program in 2009.
Mr. Hazzard is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout Texas. In addition, Mr. Hazzard is a composer and arranger. Performances of his marching band arrangements and original compositions are performed by some of the top bands throughout the state of Texas. His newest works O Nata Lux (2010) and Ave Mara (2011) have recently been published by the Hal Leonard Corporation. In addition, Mr. Hazzard is the co-owner of Helios Music Publications. Throughout the year, Mr. Hazzard stays very active as a team building and leadership consultant and writer.
Mr. Hazzard's professional affiliations include the Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Ph Beta Mu. He is married to Whitney, a saxophone private teacher in the DFW area. They have two daughters, Caitlyn and Lauren and a son, Cameron.

Michael Jordan - Associate Director of Bands
Mr. Jordan graduated Magna Cum Laude in Music Education from North Texas as a Meritorious Scholar and Honors College Scholar. He performed as a trombonist in the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Green Brigade Marching Band, Trombone Choirs, Lab Bands, and Opera Orchestra. Some of his influential professors included Eugene Corporon, Dennis Fisher, Dr. Nicholas Williams, Tony Baker, and Dr. Donna Emmanuel.
Mr. Jordan grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and attended Lawrence High School. He was involved in Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, A Cappella Choir, and Chorale. During his three eligible years, Mr. Jordan performed first chair in the All-State Band, first chair in the All-State Orchestra and lead trombone in the All-State Jazz Band.
Prior to joining the staff at Creekview High School, Mr. Jordan worked as an assistant director in Kennedale Independent School District. His wife Melody is also a UNT graduate, and is a choir director at Polk Middle School in Carrollton. Two dogs currently complete the Jordan family: Tatum, a Maltese/Bichon, and Ella, a lovable mutt.

Andy Anker - Associate Director of Bands
Mr. Anker is currently in his second year as an Associate Band Director at Creekview High School in Carrollton, TX. His responsibilities include conducting the Concert Band and overseeing all aspects of the Percussion and Colorguard programs. Mr. Anker also serves as an All-State Percussion Organizer during the annual Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio, TX.
Mr. Anker earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from St. Cloud State University, and his Master of Music in Percussion Performance from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Anker has taught and performed with some of the nation's most visible musical organizations including the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps, The Dallas Wind Symphony, Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, and several performing arts theatres in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
